There is a bead store in Mendocino. So, of course, I had to check it out when we went to town to get our mail. Roger and Niel waited outside. The store was too perfumy for Roger.
This statue was on the top of the old Masonic Temple.
This old church has been turned into a health food store. We went in to get some 7-grain cereal to put in the bread when I need to bake some more. We were out and the last batch of bread didn't have any in it. When you buy 7-grain bread, it is the cereal that is used in the recipe.
There were pretty stained glass windows.
Since we went into town in the late afternoon and I took time in the bead store, we had dinner in town in this house turned bar and restaurant.
They had really good fish (halibut) and chips. I had sweet potato fries with mine. Yum!!!!!!
There were some antiques inside and a strange lamp. I, however, didn't take my camera inside, so I had to settle for taking a picture with Neil's phone. So I only got one picture and it wasn't very good, but you can see the lamp and the antique stove. I called it the "lady lamp."
The next day we went and checked out the coastline around Mendocino. There are arches, caves and tunnels that you can paddle in or through with a kayak.

We did find a little sandy beach that had a little shelter built out of drift wood and some BIG writing on it wishing someone named Riley a happy 15th birthday.
There were some steps down to the beach, but I decided I really didn't want to climb back up them. There were just a few too many for me.
Someone carved a little totem pole on a post .
There were flowers in it's mouth. I didn't see the dime till I looked at the pictures later.
Another carved face. This one doesn't look real happy.
There were wild flowers everywhere.

Next we will go to glass beach. Why is it called glass beach, you ask? You will have to wait to find out. Till then, God bless.
