Tecopa hot spring

This is my blog for yesterday, April 14, 2011
As I said yesterday, we are parked near Tecopa hot spring.  We are up on a hill overlooking the valley where the desert  is somewhat like a moonscape in places,

and covered in plants in others.

There is a beautiful flower here that we have rarely seen anywhere else called the desert 5-spot.  It is a beautiful shade of lavender with 5 red spots inside when it opens up.
The hot spring is down in the valley and there are several RV parks where you can park and use the baths or you can can pay to use the baths for a day.  There are also the public baths that have separate buildings for men and women because you soak naked in the pools.  There are rare pup fish down stream so they don't want the dyes and chemicals from clothing in the water to protect the fish.  We paid to use a private room with a tub.
Our private tub

Wonderful hot water!  Tecopa hot spring has the most minerals than any other hot spring.  There is one in Germany that has one less mineral.

We picked up our mail----there is actually a post office and volunteer fire department here as well as a church.  They even have a small school for the few residents.  But other than that, there is only the RV parks and the hot spring.

We came back home and I pulled out some beads to play with.  My challenge is to transform the following group of beads into something beautiful to wear.  Hmmmmmmmmm.

So I will go play with my beads for now and see what tomorrow brings.

  1. I would take that old rag rug by the spring tub and cut it apart and RE-weave it!

  2. Hey Lila, great blog so far and you just started! It will be nice to hear from a females point of view of your life on the road. As for those beads, I am not worried that you will come up with a beautiful creation of your own!
