Great Grandson Visit

We were privileged to get a visit from our Princess granddaughter, her son and her boyfriend.  The little guy, Dominic, has grown so much and even talks now.  He plays with his daddy a lot.

I just love those blond curls.  He really liked Missy, the dog.
A couple times Missy got so excited that she ran round in circles really fast and tore up the lawn.  We had to make her stop because she was about to knock Dominic down on the cement.  He found a little puddle that he ended up laying down in.  Luckily there wasn't really much water there.
He crawled under the truck and tried to stand up.
He was running everywhere and keeping his mom and dad busy, so we finally corralled him in the back of the pickup.
What a cutie!  That was when I finally got some hugs.  We don't see him real often so he doesn't know us all that well, but he did finally warm up to us.  He even played with Great Grandpa's beard.....after I already put the camera away so I could visit, of course.  He did try to escape.
There is his mommy, Princess Brit.
He really got into running back and forth in the back of the pickup and putting his face up to the lens of my camera and saying cheese, LOL, and he wouldn't take his face off the camera till I snapped a picture. This is the only really close close-up that turned out.

Easter Sunday we had breakfast at church before the service.  My friend Marsha attended church with us and then came home with us afterwards to visit.  We also cut out a new back for a beaded tank top she bought at a garage sale that was a little too tight.  Then another friend, Vickie came by for a short visit as well. It was such a nice day that we sat outside in the sun.

We went to dinner at Roger's sister's place.  He husband is a fantastic cook and really enjoys it.  Didn't get pictures of all the food........my bad.

I also finished a colorful purse this weekend.
The fabric is sparkly.
I found these fantastic buttons that inspired the purse.  They are just so neat and colorful.  The depth of the colors doesn't show up in the photos.
I made the flower petals with half circles of fabric and gathered them at the straight edge (they are double fabric).  I covered up the stitching in the middle with beads and then embellished a little more.  I edged the petals with size 15 clear AB and size 13 pink beads and then put some on the front of the petals, too.  See the orange dragonfly on the red petal?
A closeup of the center of the flower.
The handles are made from the same fabrics.

Well, that's all folks.  Until next time, God bless.

I got my hair cut!

My hair was getting so long that it was getting caught in dresser drawers when I put clothes away or got them out to wear.  I had to put it in a bun on top of my head at night time so Roger didn't roll over on it.......or so I didn't roll over on it and my neck would get stuck in a kinked position.  LOL.  All of that could have been put up with, but it was just time to cut it.

So much has been happening in our family lately.  One of our daughters, Tina, tried to commit suicide by sticking a butcher knife in her belly.  God was there because the knife missed every vital organ.  What are the odds of that?  I say it was God.  He is not done with her yet.  She lost a lot of blood because she nicked a major artery, but she is fine now. We spent most of the time she was in the hospital sitting there with her and talking to her.  She had quit taking her bipolar meds because the doctors had her on high doses and she felt like a zombie.  She couldn't smile or laugh or cry.  She said that hurting was better than feeling nothing.  She was messing around with meth again as well.  We had started picking her up for lunch on Fridays and we had just seen her the day before she stabbed herself and she had seemed fine, if a little subdued.  She got back on her meds after she got out of the hospital and we thought things were going fine again till the last Friday we took her to lunch.  That day we thought for sure she was on something because her eyes looked weird and she couldn't finish a sentence and she was acting weird.  She really scared us later that day so we had her picked up so a Mental Health person could evaluate her.  They tested her for drugs and she was clean.  I had never seen a bipolar incident like that before.

The next day, which was Saturday, I went to a Christian Women's Prayer Conference.  I had a woman pray with me for our daughter.  After we prayed, she looked at me and said, "She will call."  About an hour after I got home, our daughter called and asked if we would pick her up in the morning for church.  Wow!!!  Talk about goose bumps!  God is so good!!!  She went forward and gave her heart to God.  After church, we went to lunch and after lunch, Roger asked her where she wanted to go from here (she didn't have a place to go home to at this point).  She said she didn't know and asked Roger if he had any suggestions.  He said he would like to see her get into a faith based program like Safe Family Ministries.  She said ok and we took her there and they didn't have an opening, but they gave her some paperwork to fill out.  Wherever her address was wanted, she wrote "here."  When she was done, a counselor talked to her and asked if she could be back by 8pm.  What an awesome God we serve!!!!  She is doing great!!!

Then Roger invited our grandson, Aaron, to church.  Then he invited our foster daughter, Donna, to church.  They have both given their hearts to the Lord!!!!  God has been working overtime in our family!  We are excited to see what He will do next.

Until next time, God bless.

Grandson's 7th birthday

Saturday (yesterday) we went to our youngest grandson's birthday.  He turned 7 years old.  He is the goofiest grandchild we have, which just makes him all the more lovable.  His birthday was the 10th, but the party had to be on the weekend.  His step-dad couldn't come because he had double hernia surgery on Wednesday and was all drugged up with pain pills.  Jen says his new nickname is Dopey, LOL.  The party was at Papa Pete's Pizza Parlor.  3 family size pizza's were over $90!!!!  I couldn't believe it!!!!  That is waaaaaaaay too much for pizza.  The 2 little guys at the party played video games while we waited for the pizza..
The little cowboy was dressed to the hilt.  He had cowboy boots, double holster with 2 (orange plastic) hand guns and his hat.  He was a cutie.  He and Eric played video games and only stopped when they had to come ask for more money.
After pizza we let Eric open his gifts.  His two older brothers (ages 19 and 20) really spoiled him.

Eric is really into the movie 'CARS' with Speed McQueen and Mater in it.  His oldest brother even bought an expensive box that is a Speed McQueen car to put his gifts in.

They are so cute!

I had to hand my camera to Eric's brother, Ryan, to get this picture.  I was sitting in the wrong place.  He did a very good job of taking this picture for me.
He's such a good lookin boy, isn't he?
He got all the candles out, too.
Our littlest grandchild is growing up.  (sigh)  He told his mom that she must be 20 years old because if she were 30, she would look older.  (she is 39)  What a sweet little guy, huh?
Eric's two oldest brothers:  from left to right, Danny, Melyssa (Danny's girlfriend) and Brandon.
Grandpa, who is proud of all of his grandchildren, looks on with a smile.

I got another purse done and ready for sale.  It is a mostly red one and measures 13" x 13".

That's all folks.  Until next time, God bless.

Icy Conditions

In my last blog post I told about the snow......obviously we weren't going to get any solar for several days.  It is a good thing we are plugged in for electricity.

We had about 20 inches of snow, higher than Roger's rubber barn boots.

Then it warmed up to above freezing, still in the mid 30s, but warmer, and it rained all day.  Not real hard, but  ice was building up on everything.  There about 1/2 an inch on the truck windshield and it was building up on the trees.
Those are ice cycles, not just dripping water.

There were, and still is, power outages all over western Washington.  Roger said that he could hear almost a constant popping sound when he went outside.  A lot of limbs and trees are falling in the woods behind us.  I can could hear some of the loudest ones inside the bus, even with the insulation on the windows on that side.  He said that 150 foot trees were bending over in all directions from the ice build up and when the ice got too heavy, they broke and fell.

At least the dog enjoyed it.  She rolled up a ball of snow, ate some off, and rolled it bigger again.

It is warming up now and the snow is melting, so there will probably be flooding in some areas.
Until next time , God bless.
