So much has been happening in our family lately. One of our daughters, Tina, tried to commit suicide by sticking a butcher knife in her belly. God was there because the knife missed every vital organ. What are the odds of that? I say it was God. He is not done with her yet. She lost a lot of blood because she nicked a major artery, but she is fine now. We spent most of the time she was in the hospital sitting there with her and talking to her. She had quit taking her bipolar meds because the doctors had her on high doses and she felt like a zombie. She couldn't smile or laugh or cry. She said that hurting was better than feeling nothing. She was messing around with meth again as well. We had started picking her up for lunch on Fridays and we had just seen her the day before she stabbed herself and she had seemed fine, if a little subdued. She got back on her meds after she got out of the hospital and we thought things were going fine again till the last Friday we took her to lunch. That day we thought for sure she was on something because her eyes looked weird and she couldn't finish a sentence and she was acting weird. She really scared us later that day so we had her picked up so a Mental Health person could evaluate her. They tested her for drugs and she was clean. I had never seen a bipolar incident like that before.
The next day, which was Saturday, I went to a Christian Women's Prayer Conference. I had a woman pray with me for our daughter. After we prayed, she looked at me and said, "She will call." About an hour after I got home, our daughter called and asked if we would pick her up in the morning for church. Wow!!! Talk about goose bumps! God is so good!!! She went forward and gave her heart to God. After church, we went to lunch and after lunch, Roger asked her where she wanted to go from here (she didn't have a place to go home to at this point). She said she didn't know and asked Roger if he had any suggestions. He said he would like to see her get into a faith based program like Safe Family Ministries. She said ok and we took her there and they didn't have an opening, but they gave her some paperwork to fill out. Wherever her address was wanted, she wrote "here." When she was done, a counselor talked to her and asked if she could be back by 8pm. What an awesome God we serve!!!! She is doing great!!!
Then Roger invited our grandson, Aaron, to church. Then he invited our foster daughter, Donna, to church. They have both given their hearts to the Lord!!!! God has been working overtime in our family! We are excited to see what He will do next.
Until next time, God bless.
Lila
